Ooops I did it again!

I bought some more cards!
I bought them off COMC!
Some more completed sets...

Just try to imagine the above words on the music of the famous song of Britney...awful right?

So let's move to something we all love, baseball cards and set completing!
Since I earned some money on Paypal by selling old stuff, I decided it was time to buy some new stuff, and what better place to do it than COMC?
At first I was tempted to have a look at ebay, but then I thought, "on COMC I wouldn't have to pay shipping, processing fees and there's no possible negative outcome as an average auction", so there was not much discussing about what was the most smart thing to do...

I decided to focus on two main goals:
- try to complete some of the sets that were the closest to completion;
- spend some money on 2013 Tribute WBC cards to mark some cards off of the wantlist

For the first goal, I'd say that I did pretty well, in fact I completed the following sets, by picking up the cards depicted (I'm not listing all the cards I bought to complete every set, but maybe a couple from each one)

- 2008 Topps Heritage Then and Now (# of cards I was missing: 3)

# TN2 Ernie Banks and Alex Rodriguez

- 2011 Topps Opening Day Presidential First Pitch (# of cards I was missing: 1)

# PFP3 Calvin Coolidge

- 2011 Topps Opening Day Spot the error (# of cards I was missing: 1)

# 3 Jose Bautista

- 2014 Bowman Prospects (# of cards I was missing: 5)

# BP25 Kris Bryant

- 1992 Fleer Ultra (# of cards I was missing: 4)

# 82 Jaime Navarro

- 2011 Topps 60 Years of Topps: the lost cards (# of cards I was missing: 4)

# 60YOTLC3 Mickey Mantle

# 60YOTLC10 Stan Musial

The Bryant was definitely the most expensive card of the lot, with a price of almost 4 dollars, but I expected an even higher price due to the hype surrounding him, so I thought it was a fair price.
I've also checked some cards off the wantlists of other sets such as 2011 Topps Opening Day, 2011 Topps Opening Day Superstars Celebrations, 2012 Topps A cut above, plus all the base 2013 Tribute WBC I picked up, and even some autos and relics from the set...

So stay tuned (I'd say about one month from now) for the update in the Tribute WBC checklists and keep collecting!

Too many autographs to count...or not?

If you know the type of collector that I am, you know that there isn't an amount of cards big enough to scare me and prevent me from count and organize it!

During the week I prepared a sort of checklist of all the autographs I have (only the certified ones), to have a better evidence of the players that signed at least a card that's now in my hands...

Turned out that I have 510 different autographed cards, which is a great achievement, and also that there are some players that have multiple entries in the collection, but who are the players that signed the most cards in my collection?

Not surprisingly at all, some of them are included in the set I've been more focused on (2013 Tribute WBC), justyfying the multiple entries, so let's get to the ink!

With 6 autographed cards each, Yovani Gallardo and Derek Holland, followed by Andre Rienzo,J.P. Arencibia, John Axford and Wandy Rodriguez with 5 entries.
As I said, the majority of these autographs can be viewed in this dedicated page , so maybe I'll show just the cards that cannot be seen in the above link.

Yovani Gallardo

2007 Bowman Sterling

2010 Topps Finest

Derek Holland

2014 Topps Tribute Traditions Autographs

Andre Rienzo

2014 Topps Trajectory

2014 Topps Turkey Red Autograph

J.P. Arencibia

2007 Tristar Prospects Plus Farm Hands Autograph

2012 Topps Gypsy Queen Certified Autograph

That's it for today!
Let me know if you liked this post, and maybe I could do a second part with other players and their autographs!

Have a great weekend and don't stop collecting!

Oh Zistle, where have you been?

It's probably always been there, but I was too lazy to check it out...

But thanks to the request of a new possible European trading partner called Paul, I finally joined the vast community of

So far I just added a handful of thousands of cards, but I think this will be an interesting activity in the coming weeks... probably the most funny thing to do will be update as many missing pictures as possible, and watch the digital collection grow and hopefully reach the proportions of the real one..

Whoever is a Zistle user, please feel free to contact me, I'm always very curious to peep other collector's collections!

My username is Italiancompletist, just to avoid the risk of being confused with a different collector based in Italy, and that tries to complete as many sets as possible...

Speaking if which, since there will be no more need of my low quality, excessively uncomfortable for the user, scans. So I will soon delete the page and the links to dropbox, that will still be used as a repository for my wantlists...

I also recently received the last package from COMC, with the cards I picked up from ebay during February and early March, so I'm going to show my favorite card from that lot...tell me what you think!
