This week in my mailbox episode 6

Hello everyone!

I'm back after a couple of weeks of silence, because (as usual) I had plenty of work to do, nut packages continued to arrive at my doorstep, and in this post you'll be updated about my WBC set chase and some other nice cards recently arrived.

The sources for the cards vary from ebay to COMC, with my first purchase ever, and I'm very happy with it!

First, a couple of 2013 Tribute WBC, patch cards to be more specific..
Asdrubal Cabrera 33-colour patch numbered to 131 and Ross Detwiler 3-colour patch numbered to 50

And now it's time for some autographs, in no particular order, but still very useful to pursue the completion!

I got Jose Berrios, Asdrubal Cabrera, the two versions of Ross Detwiler, Derek Holland and Miguel Montero none of them being numbered. And also a Glen Perkins numbered to 25.
As I mentioned before, some of the cards are from the bay of E, and some from COMC, from the same site and together with the autos I got a good number of base cards.
I will soon upload the checklist to give you an idea of the completion status of this great set.

Now, let's move on to something different, with three (in my opinion) beautiful cards, all from ebay, and very different one from another.

First is a  2014 Topps Museum jersey card, depicting Alex Gordon and numbered to 35!

Next, a booklet, the first I own, and very nice also! It features two Yankees autographs, both with a piece of pinstripe...they're Joba Chamberlain (second auto of him in my collection) and Robinson Cano (actually a former Yankee)...oh, and did I mention that the card is numbered to 39 and it's from 2009 Ticket to Stardom? Here it is...

And now, to conclude this post with a vintage touch, a fantastic 1909-1911T206 Piedmont Cigarette Card depicting Mr. George Stovall, what do you think about it?
I know it's a bit off-centered, but for a piece of cardboard that old I would say it looks pretty nice right?

I'm counting down the days before the White Plains show in august...

Best regards from Italy and keep collecting!

DAcardworld deliveries!

This is my first post non related to ebay pickups, and I'm happy to present you.....

MY FIRST EVER BOX BREAK DOCUMENTED ON BLOG

And the product that I received is.....

TWO BOXES OF 2013 TOPPS TRIBUTE WBC

I know, I'm becoming more unpredictable every week, but I'm very into this product, and I decided to combine the costs incurred in 10/12 ebay pickups (bidding and S&H), which is the equivalent number of hits contained in two boxes, and invest in a sealed product that guarantees you four autos and two patches in every box, which is very helpful when you're chasing the completion of the set (at least the not numbered versions of the autos and patches).

Only thing that disappointed me was the time passed between the shipment notice and the delivery, since I chose the 3-day delivery service (offered also for international customers), and the package arrived after ten days.

But let's get to the cards, before showing them to you separately, a panoramic view of what I got

Let's present them in detail shall I?

Probably the best hit was this Xander Bogaerts patch, numbered to 35 but with 6 colors on it!

I found 3 more patch cards, two of them being numbered to 131, a 3 color Justin Morneau and a 2 color Robinson Cano...here they are!

And a Fernando Rodney numbered to 50 patch with 3 colors was also included in the packs!

While among the autographed cards, in my opinion the hit has been the first one I'll show in a sec, followed by the Rienzo...

Adrian Gonzalez auto (not numbered)

and the Rienzo auto is numbered to 25 (which is also his jersey number)

The remaning autographed cards I'm presenting are in no particular order, and consider that two of the following are double, which means that I'm officially offering them for trade if anyone is interested!

Brandon Phillips auto #'d to 35, Nelson Cruz auto #'d to 50, and the not numbered autos of Jose Berrios, Jameson Taillon, Jason Grilli and R.A. Dickey!

The cards that I'm willing to trade are the Jason Grilli and the R.A. Dickey autographs, so if you're interested please contact me and let's set a trade!!

I also put togehter 44 base cards, with no doubles (phew) but also no parallel versions, but I already set up a 30something order on COMC to fill-in some spaces in the base cards checklist....

Hope you liked this post and the cards showed,

Keep collecting and Ciao from Italy!

This week in my mailbox episode 5

Hello everybody!

I'm back after a couple of weeks of non-posting, not because of the absence of deliveries to my doorstep, as you're about to see,but mainly because of work and because I was waiting for two boxes that I purchased on DAcardworld two weeks ago.

This post will only focus on the ebay pickups recently received, while the boxes and their hidden treasures will be posted in a separate post.

So, as I'm borinlgy repeating in every post since I started this blog, I'm focusing on the 2013 Topps Tribute WBC set, and the next are some of the more recent additions to the collection, and all come from the bay of E, and I think that every card costed more on S&H than the card itself (the problems related to living oversea!)...

Let's start with the un-numbered cards

- Yovani Gallardo auto

- Fernando Rodney auto (hate the Topps sticker)
- Derek Holland auto

Then some numbered cards, mixing patches and autos!

- Ross Detwiler auto #'d to 25
- Derek Holland auto #'d to 50

- Wandy Rodriguez auto #'d to 50

- Jimmy Rollins 2 color patch #'d to 101

- Edwin Encarnation 3 color patch #'d to 50

- Jameson Taillon plain red patch #'d to 35

This is it for the WBC loot, buut before I end this post, two more pickups not Tribute related, a Brad Lidge 4 color patch from 2009 Topps Unique numbered to 99 and a Gio Gonzalez Triple Threads 13 pieces of red jersey numbered to 18.

And that's all for this post!

Hope you liked the cards, and see you very soon on my next post, with the first box break!

This week in my mailbox episode 4

Hello collectors from all over the world!

This post should have been titled "last two weeks in my mailbox", because I accumulated so many packages in the last two weeks, I think this post will be veeery long and rich in pictures....

First up is a card of a player that has recently been on the rise, on the field and on the bay of E as well, I'm talking about Yoenis Cespedes, and the card I received last week is a Topps Tribute WBC (no,really?) with an autograph of the cuban player, and here it is...

It is the red/pink/fuchsia (who knows?) version of the card, numbered to a nice 40, and you would probably be surprised knowing that I paid a very (very) low price for this card...very...

Next up, and from the same set, are the three cards I'm going to show you

And now let's move on to some fabric into some cardboard....I'm talkin 'bout jersey cards!

First, a quad-relic card of three (and soon four) former yankees, a very nice card, even though it's not numbered (it'd deserve it, am I right?). And most importantly, this card came from a fellow european collector...and no, it's not from the dutch card guy, but from a french collector..and yes, there's plenty of baseball cards collecting going on here in Europe, we are five I think, but we may be six or seven!
The second is a jersey card of A-rod, I player that I like, no matter what's been going on recently...
And the third one, well, the reasons I got it are:
- it was on ebay for a price so low that was too sad not to buy it, and
- this card probably features the biggest piece of jersey I have in my collection, and not the usual plain white anonymous piece of jersey..ok ,it's a plain black anonymous piece of jersey...

And staying in the jersey and former yankees mood, here's a pretty nice and pretty rare (it's numbered to just 3) Robinson  Cano Jersey card, nice isn't it?

We're almost at the end of this post, but before I end it, let me show some more stuff the postman (no, not Karl Malone) left in the mailbox recently....

Ok, now this post is complete...just a couple details on the above cards, the weird-shaped Conway is numbered to 50, the Blanks is numbered to 250, the Coghlan to 99, and the Prizms are very hard to scan!

Best regards from Italy and keep collecting!

P.S. contact me if you're looking for trades, I've tons of base cards from 80's to present if you're looking for specific cards to complete your sets!
